Effects of high-volume hemofiltration on the cytokines and sequential organ failure assessment scores in patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome
[Abstract] Objective To observe the effects of high-volume hemofiltration(HVHF) on the cytokines and sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA) scores in patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome and to investigate the therapeutic action of HVHF on patients with MODS. Methods Thirty-one patients with MODS underwent HVHF were brought into trial. The levels of TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 and the SOFA scores in patients with MODS were measured before HVHF and after HVHF respectively. Result The levels of TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 and the SOFA scores in patients with MODS before HVHF were higher than those after HVHF (t=12.47, 14.85, 10.60, 8.87,, respectively, P < 0.05). Conclusions HVHF could decrease the levels of cytokines and the SOFA scores in patients with MODS, and improve the survival rate of MODS patients. ......
